ABOUT DR. MARK TANABE
I am a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY29456) and I work in private practice as a therapist. Additionally, I enjoy teaching and also facilitate groups at the Spiritual Studies Institute in Valley Center, CA
I did my undergraduate studies at UC San Diego and earned Master of Arts and Doctor of Psychology degrees from the California School of Professional Psychology, an APA accredited program long known for its commitment to in-depth clinical training. I was rigorously trained to help individuals, couples, and families in excellent clinics throughout Los Angeles, including the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center and the Wright Institute Los Angeles. More recently (2019-2020),
I was an adjunct faculty member at the California School of Professional Psychology in the clinical PsyD doctoral program and taught the subjects of ethics and professional development.
Personally, spending time and traveling with my family is a true joy. I am also passionate about creativity, playing music and connecting with nature, whether it be time spent in the garden or extended personal retreats in wild and beautiful places. Professionally, my work feels to me to be a calling. I find it both a privilege and an honor to walk with such incredibly brave souls, both young and old, on their journey of healing and self-discovery.
